Our featured  Member for November is Cascade Fabrics’ owner Paul Kelley.  Paul was born in Seattle and is a graduate of Roosevelt High School. After a brief
attempt at college, he decided the Navy was a better option. After his military service, he gave college another try and was successful in obtaining his Bachelor’s degree in Business, from the University of Washington. Paul worked for Penny’s for about ten years then decided to be his own boss, so he opened Cascade Fabrics; that was 30 years ago!

Paul met his wife, Bobi, on a blind date just after he left the service. Evidently her best friend and his best friend thought they would make a good couple.
Looks like they were right. Paul and Bobi have two sons, a twelve-year-old granddaughter (who grandpa enjoys spoiling), and a deaf cat.

He has been a Chamber member since 1997 and is an active member and past president of Rotary.

Cascade Fabrics is your one stop quilting shop but don’t let that stop you non-quilters. They also carry supplies for most home sewing needs including; denim, fleece, lace, yarn, crib panels, patterns, batting, lots of notions, and more. They even has a few surprising items like children’s books, puzzles, and even some craft supplies. To add to your shopping experience, there is a children’s play corner and pleasant music. One of the specialty items that they carry is “Aunt Martha’s” embroidery transfers, a very popular yet hard to find item.

Lynn Hohmann helps out at the store and says she likes the relaxed atmosphere. After 43 years in the nursing field she was ready for a change.
