The First Saturday in December is our major Winter event. Family fun, train rides, pony rides, face painting, and crafts with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sedro-Woolley begins at 3 pm.

The tree lighting at 5 pm sharp is followed by the whobulation of a spectacular lighted Christmas Parade.

After the parade you are invited to bring the kids to see Santa at the Sedro-Woolley Eagle’s, 1000 Metcalf Street.

Everyone is encouraged to adopt the Seussian style for the first Saturday event, and be warned a green faced fellow has lurked around the event for the last few years.

Prizes for this year’s parade have been simplified there will be only 3 cash prizes.

1.  Best Lit (that means grandest, twinkliest, most extravagant display you can put together and even walkers are expected to don lighted gay apparel.

2.  Best Musical, best musical will be judged on thematic elements, performance for the judges, and overall musicality.

3.  Best Themed, this is a new category to encourage participation in the town theme.

But are judges hearts are never too small and sometimes have been known to add a prize or two, so be bright, be light, be festive and most of all have fun.

The second Saturday of December brings the Santa Breakfast at the S-W Community Center located at 703 Pacific Street where your children can come eat a breakfast of waffles, sausage links, and orange slices with their choice of milk or apple juice for FREE (parents by donation), provided by Beta Sigma Phi.

After their breakfast children can see Santa and you are free to photograph your little one with Santa.

The Museum has a new plan for celebrating the holidays on the 9th and 10th.  Entitled the “Spirit of Christmas Past.”  With Chad Lindberg, actor & paranormal investigator.  Come celebrate the holidays with Chad and his many years of the paranormal, as he facilitates the communication with the spirits the call the museum home.  Although the Holiday Home Tour will not happen this year the museum will be selecting the best decorated home exteriors, so if you are decorating your home contact the Museum to sign up for the judging.  Judging will take place the 12th and 13th of December.  2 performances a night at 5 pm and again at 7 pm.  Reservations are required as the show is limited to 25 persons per show.  $10.00 for adults and children under ten $5.00.

The Christmas Whobulation will soon be upon us, we hope to see the town looking merry and bright, hopefully many merchants will follow the theme making for a fun-filled small town Christmas.
