If you are wondering why the chamber spends so much time and energy producing the Magic of Christmas the short answer is this: we do it for you. You see, it fulfills our vision statement. I mention our vision often in this column: Establish partnerships and communication with the City, Businesses, and the Community. The Chamber | Community partnership is so important. You (community) are the people that bring the commerce to the businesses that support the city staff through the taxes they pay. It allows these business owners and managers to donate goods, services and money to all of our worthy causes like soccer teams, history clubs, hospital guilds and lighted Christmas parades. So, now, it is time for you to strengthen the partnership and quite simply start your holiday shopping experience at home. As you do this, it strengthens every aspect and element of what makes Sedro-Woolley such an amazing place to call home.
When I asked Billie Stormont to head the Christmas committee back in June she actually thanked me for thinking of her! Amazing! Billie has worked very hard along with the following committee members: Tracy Willis, Pola Kelley, Lynn Torset, Sue Walden, Donna Backman, Terry Gifford, Lauri Lauritsen, Jo Ann Lazaron and chamber staffers Adrianna McDowell, Jina Williams and Patty Smith. James and Deb Houben along with Jim Hobbs spent a weekend gathering all of the bare branches that are gracing the light poles. Thank you to them for adding to the Magic of Christmas in Sedro-Woolley.
